Want to attract and convert more clients?
Well, on this week's Podcast, I share my secrets to building credibility and trust so you can capture more leads and grow your business!
In the 20 years since releasing my first credit repair software, I've helped thousands of businesses build from the ground up.
One of the most difficult challenges new credit repair businesses face is building enough credibility to attract and convert their first few clients.
These Credit Heroes moved beyond helping their friends and family, but now they find themselves trying to convince a bunch of strangers that they can be trusted with their credit.
It's a little like the problem of how you need experience to get a job, but you can't get experience until you have a job. To attract, convert, or retain clients, you first have to establish yourself as a credit repair professional.
That's why today, I'm sharing my key strategies for building credibility and trust so you can convert leads and grow your business!
HOW THIS RELATES TO US
It's common for new businesses to have difficulties finding customers until they've built a reputation. But compared to other industries, credit repair businesses face a bit of an uphill battle.
There is a lot of misinformation about credit repair online, and the industry has a mixed reputation because of it. So, for credit repair businesses, establishing credibility and building trust is essential!
If you're just getting started in credit repair, don't worry or get overwhelmed. There are not only four key strategies for building trust and credibility, but each of those strategies has countless tactics.
THE THING TO REMEMBER
Don't expect to become a trusted credit repair business overnight. It takes time, dedication, and consistency. So be patient.
Even if you only have test clients, focus on providing them with excellent service and delivering results. Those early reviews and testimonials lay the groundwork for your reputation as a reliable credit repair expert.
WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
Building credibility directly impacts your ability to attract and convert more leads. When potential clients see you as an authority in credit repair, they're more likely to choose you over your competition. And when you build trust, they'll stick with you for the long haul.
The four key strategies revolve around making great first impressions, being transparent in your operations, being honest, informed, and ethical, and taking every opportunity to showcase your expertise.
This means focusing on elements like your website, business email, reviews, compliance, content marketing, and community outreach.
When done right, these strategies can position you as a reliable expert that clients will be excited to hire.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
There are four key strategies to building credibility for a credit repair business.
STRATEGY #1: MAKE A GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION
The old saying "You never get a second chance to make a first impression" is also true in business. So, do everything in your power to make that first impression count.
This means all the customer-facing elements of your business should be professional, polished, and consistent.
Your business will become more recognizable and familiar to potential clients if your marketing materials are consistent across all platforms.
Your company's social accounts should post engaging content regularly but focus on creating brand awareness or driving traffic to your website.
Your website is your storefront, business card, and lead capture tool. Treat it with all the care and attention it deserves. Your website should be easy to navigate, with high-quality photos, video testimonials, and a compelling "About Us" page that tells your story.
If you're not even a little tech savvy, and you don't have credit repair software that comes with a website creator feature, consider hiring a web designer to build a site that is visually appealing and easy to use.
Either way, it doesn't need to be fancy. It should provide clear, up-to-date information about your business, services, and fees.
The "About Us" page on your website is your opportunity to tell your story, make connections to your leads, and build trust. If you want a guide to crafting an effective 'About Us' page, you can head to the CRC Facebook Community and learn more.
There's also a new video tutorial dropping in the Credit Repair Cloud Facebook Community on how to choose and register a website domain name that creates a good first impression.
On to the key strategy number two!
STRATEGY #2: BE TRANSPARENT AND HONEST
Transparency and honesty build trust and credibility faster than anything.
People respect the truth and hate a liar. So, be upfront with your clients about their credit situation and what you can do to help them.
Also, be compassionate and honest about what you can't do. You don't have a magic wand, and there's no silver bullet.
So, don't make guarantees, and don't make promises that you can't keep.
State your services and fees clearly and consistently on your website and marketing materials.
Manage online reviews. There are apps like Reviewtrigger that can help you by sorting each review, posting everything 4-stars and up, and sending everything 3-stars and below over to you for a response.
Address any issues raised in negative reviews, and thank happy clients for their kind words.
In any case, be proactive with your communication.
One of our most successful Credit Heroes, Amber Jones, built a massive credit repair business by being proactive with her communication. She liked to say, "Before you call us, you're gonna get tired of hearing from us." Because she set up so many automations and points of contact with her clients, minor concerns never become a major issue.
STRATEGY #3: BE COMPLIANT AND ETHICAL
As a professional, being aware of your legal responsibilities and adhering to ethical standards not only keeps you compliant it builds credibility.
So, familiarize yourself with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and other laws and regulations that govern the credit repair industry. The more you know them, the better equipped you'll be to fight back against the bureaus.
A simple way to stay compliant is to set up Google Alerts so you get emailed every time the CFPB or the FTC announces a policy change.
By upholding credit repair industry standards, you not only enhance your credibility but also help improve the reputation of the industry!
Now it's time for the last and most fun key strategy!
STRATEGY #4: SHOWCASE YOUR EXPERTISE
Demonstrating your credit repair skills and expertise is a very effective way to market your business for free, boost your credibility, and attract more leads.
There was a recent post in our community from a Credit Hero named Santiago, who explained one tactic he used to showcase his expertise was writing a short, 30-page book about credit and putting it on Amazon. Not only does the book establish his credibility, but every time he has a consultation, he gives the book away for FREE. Because, in his words, "reciprocity will make them want to sign up with you."
You can also volunteer to give credit repair talks at local credit unions, community centers, schools, and industry events, anywhere people can benefit from your knowledge and are willing to listen.
Whether you follow these key strategies or make up your own, remember, your clients aren't just looking for a service; they're looking for someone they can trust with their financial future. So earn that trust.
